2nd Annual Golf Classic results ..

Friday, April 19th 2024. The Bastrop County Republican Party (BCRP) held it’s 2nd Annual
Golf Classic at the beautiful ColoVista Golf Club, located above the banks of the Colorado
River in Bastrop. Players enjoyed sausage wraps and beverages, warmups on the driving range,
and honed their putting skills before the customary Shotgun Start at Noon. Fifteen teams
descended onto the links with the goal to have fun, compete for trophies and Hole In One
contests for prizes, including a brand new Chevrolet Silverado Pickup on the uniquely
challenging 15th hole.

At the conclusion of play, and following a Schlotzsky’s box meal, Curtis Courtney presented
Trophies to: First Place Team: Charlie King, Michelle King, Jacob King and Colby King;
Second Place Team: Virgil King, Adam Meuth, David King and Wesley King; with Third Place
Team: Gary Klaus, Ethan Bryce, Curtis Perkins and Randy Mudschink. There was no Hole-In-
One winner for the Silverado.

February Informational Meeting Draws Large Attendance

Dawn Buckingham, M.D., the Texas Land Commissioner spoke with county residents, candidates for city, county and state offices and BCRP members at the February Informational Meeting. The evening meeting was held in the First National Bank Community Room following an informal meet and greet opportunity. Commissioner Buckingham, discussed the many important functions of the General Land Office, including efforts to preserve, protect and operate the Alamo and Museum, and the management and acquisition of state lands to protect the states borders and coast line. In addition she shared projects focused on helping Texans recovering from natural disasters, the funding of Texas public education through the Permanent School Fund, and how the GLO helps provide benefits to Texas Veterans.

The Bastrop County Republican Party has monthly Informational Meetings, which are held the 4th Monday of each month. We invite speakers on a variety of issues and topics. Visit BastropCtyGOP.com for more information.

BCMA 25th Annual Downtown Christmas Stroll

Join Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance for their 25th Annual Downtown Bastrop Christmas Stroll to share in Fellowship, spread Holiday Cheer and sing Christmas Carols along the way. “2023 Bastrop Lighted Christmas Parade”

Thousands of Bastrop County residents, spectators and well wishers packed the entire 2023 Lost Pines Lighted Christmas Parade route this past Saturday evening. Bastrop County Republicans, supporters, elected officials and candidates rode the BCRP float festooned with lights, garland, flags, banners, a Christmas Tree and snowman, and eager to share the Christmas Joy and Holiday spirit. It was loads of fun for participants and spectators alike. The Bastrop County Republican Party wishes all Bastrop County residents a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Joyous Holiday Season.

Curtis visits the Texas Governors Mansion

Bastrop County Chair Curtis Courtney and wife Cheryl, were present at the Texas Governors Mansion Friday December 1st 2023, along with Republicans from across the state. The event, offered by the Texas Republican County Chairmen’s Association, allowed for touring the building, gardens and grounds, learning the history of Texas’ most historical building, and a photo opportunity with Governor Abbott.

Elgin and Smithville “Lighted Christmas Parades”

Your fully loaded Bastrop County Republican Party’s floats were very well received at both the Smithville and Elgin “Lighted Christmas” parades last night. Spectators along the parade routes cheered the well decorated and overflowing BCRP floats with thumbs up and holiday spirit. BCRP wishes everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!
