The Bastrop County Republican Party (BCRP) and Lost Pines Republican Women (LPRW) joined together to generate and mail a 16 page Voter Guide. This 2022 General Election issue is loaded with Candidate information, and will begin arriving in your mailbox early next week. You’ll also find Early Voting and Election Day polling places, dates and hours, a current list of your BCRP Executive Committee, Officers and Precinct Chairs, as well as information and an application for LPRW membership.
Remember cellphones and other digital devices are not permitted inside the polling place, but you can take the red boxed tear off section of candidates on the last page of the Voter Guide as your helpful notes.

Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Vice-Chair Dr. Dana Myers will be speaking at the October 24th Informational Meeting!
This meeting location has been changed to the First National Bank Community Room, 489 West Highway 71 in Bastrop and will start at 6:30 pm.
Dr. Myers is a Medical Business Consultant at the health law firm Spiers Group, she works with a Texas-based investment and development group bringing medical businesses to Texas, and a two-term Vice-Chair of the Harris County Republican Party. Dr. Myers has held leadership positions in the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW), been the Regional Director for the Republican Party of Texas/TFRW Strike Force, past HCRP Co-Chair of Engagement, past RPT Communications Task Force member, and two-term President of Magic Circle Republican Women’s Club in Houston. Dr. Myers is married to Dr. Jon Spiers, a former Republican General Land Office Candidate, and is a longtime resident of Houston, Texas.
During her two terms as Vice-Chair of the Harris County Republican Party, Dr. Myers helped to build and rebrand the party to increase its community engagement, communication, and voter registration efforts. With her special interest in training, recruitment, and increasing Republican voter turnout, Dr. Myers led an additional effort to recruit, train, and mobilize county and precinct chairs, and volunteers, across Texas using the latest technology.
At the 2022 Texas State Republican Convention in June, Dr. Dana Myers was elected to be the new Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.

Bastrop County Republican Party is hosting a condensed 3 hour “Get-Out-The-Vote Workshop”, Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The workshop will be held at Casa Chapala, 1800 Walnut Street in Bastrop Texas and presented by instructors from The Leadership Institute. Preregistration (and $10 fee) is required for the workshop and covers enrollment, course materials, and a meal. The Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) Workshop advances a comprehensive voter contact strategy, and you will learn ways to effectively implement targeted outreach to your supporters.
You will learn how to develop a systematic plan to get the most out of phones, door-to-door, early and absentee voters, and Election Day operations that deliver successful results. Additional on- demand content, which compliments this material, is available to program enrollees.
Ideal attendees for the GOTV Workshop are elected officials, current or future candidates for political office, campaign operatives, party officials, precinct chairs and campaign volunteers.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Recruit and manage volunteers
• Identify and target voters
• Use absentee and early voting tools • Coordinate Election Day activities
• Turn out their voters

The Bastrop GOP is looking for pollworkers on Election Day, Tuesday March 1. Please contact GOP Chair Mike Gepner if you would like to work that day. This is a paid position and training will be provided.
Early voting starts February 14 and ends February 25. Would you like to be a poll watcher during the election? Please contact GOP Chair Mike Gepner if you would like to volunteer your time. This is fascinating work and helps ensure election integrity. A poll watcher guide is available through the TX Secretary of State website and some online training from the RNC.
After the 2016 election, President Trump established the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. Do you remember? On May 11, 2017, he signed an Executive Order establishing the commission. Vice President Pence headed up this commission and it could have no more than 15 members. Vice Chair of the Commission was Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Its charge was set forth in the Executive Order 13799.
The Commission shall, consistent with applicable law, study the registration and voting processes used in Federal elections. The Commission shall be solely advisory and shall submit a report to the President that identifies the following:
In a call with commission members on June 28, 2017, members were told a letter would be sent to the 50 states and District of Columbia on behalf of the Commission requesting publicly-available data from state voter rolls and feedback on how to improve election integrity.
Here we are, four years later, facing legitimate recounts and lawsuits over dead people voting, improper counting, lack of signature verification, and other violations of various state laws. Here we are, four years later, with so many voting “irregularities” that 50% of the US voting population doesn’t trust the outcome of the election.
What ever happened to that commission and its work? It was disbanded due to the refusal of certain states to participate and litigation brought by some with no interest in verifying voter roles, in election integrity. It was disbanded by those who claimed there was no voter fraud, no irregularities. It was all made up by Donald J. Trump. Odd, since he won.
